Let's talk about

Thinking in times of overinformation

We live surrounded by news, videos, opinions, and messages that circulate at an unprecedented speed. However, being permanently connected does not always mean better understanding the reality we live in. In times of information overload, learning to pause, analyze, and think critically has become a fundamental necessity to understand what is happening, to make [...]

Lifelong learning: the new key to not falling behind

In a world like the one we live in, where artificial intelligence, technology, and labor changes are advancing at a great pace, learning is no longer a stage of life, it's a permanent necessity. Today, staying up-to-date doesn't depend on age, but on the willingness to adapt, relearn, and transform experience into [...]

Modern Loneliness: More Connected, More Alone

We've never had so many ways to communicate, and yet millions of people experience feelings of loneliness and emotional disconnection. In a hyperconnected society, digital presence doesn't always guarantee real connections. Understanding today how human relationships are built is key to reflecting on emotional well-being, community, and a sense of belonging. [...]

When research is not just about publishing: knowledge that translates into action

Research should not end only in an article or a report. In complex social contexts, knowledge becomes meaningful when it is transferred, applied and generates impact. In this Let's talk about “When research is not just about publishing: knowledge that translates into action” we reflect on research as an ethical responsibility and as a bridge between [...]

Christmas as a time for reflection, peace and encounter.

Christmas has as many meanings as there are people in the world. It is memory, affection, reunion and also nostalgia. It invites us to stop, give thanks and recognize the bonds that sustain us. It is not just celebrations, but simple gestures that say “I am here” and strengthen our community. This time calls us to look at others with empathy, to renew hope and to sow small actions of solidarity that make our future more human.

TRIBUTE TO DR. BETTY MÉNDEZ DE PÉREZ

An event for the memory, for the remembrance, for the spiritual and scientific strengthening. For her simplicity, her warmth and her exemplarity. Prof. Betty always leaves us a new teaching. In this case, the consonant behavior of a great Professor, of an intrinsic academy and of a living scientific example without vanity and with the desire to continue contributing. An example to follow.

Artificial Intelligence with social awareness: ally or risk?

AI is already in our lives. Medical diagnostics, personalized education, data management. But let's not forget that it can also reinforce inequalities, segregation and exclusion if we do not use it responsibly. The challenge is not only to ask ourselves what technology can do, but what it should do to improve the lives of all. Find out how to guide AI towards a more just, inclusive and caring society in our Let's talk about... Artificial intelligence with a social conscience?

Let's talk about the early years and their emotional footprints.

Every look, word and hug leaves deep marks in the infant limbic brain. The first five years of life build the invisible foundations of who we are. Dr. Maria Elisa Pizzutti invites us to reflect on how bonding shapes trust, empathy and resilience. In times dominated by screens, this text reminds us that human connection is still the best refuge for emotional development. Discover how to accompany our children's growth with love, presence and awareness.

When children are involved in decisions about their health

When children participate in decisions about their health this is what is revealed:
Listening to the voice of children in the medical consultation is not a symbolic gesture: it is a practice that improves their emotional well-being, reinforces confidence and favors adherence to treatment. Involving them according to their age and maturity strengthens their autonomy and teaches them to take care of themselves. Because caring also means explaining, accompanying and giving them a voice.

Transforming conflict with a feminist perspective: from discord to care

Women have been silently mediating in their communities for centuries. By training in conflict resolution, they not only acquire techniques, but also reconfigure power, dialogue and justice through care and empathy. The feminist perspective recognizes that not all conflicts are symmetrical and that reparation matters as much as agreement. Listening, naming pain and building together are profoundly transformative acts. These women do not idealize peace: they weave it from experience, the ethics of care and restorative justice. In polarized contexts, their role is strategic. Without their inclusion, there is no true peace.

Alternative energy and social justice

The energy transition is not just a technological issue: it is an ethical commitment to social justice. When we understand energy as a right and not as a privilege, we open up ways to democratize access to it and strengthen those who have been historically marginalized. Betting on alternative energies means caring for the planet, but it also means creating health, decent employment and social cohesion. It is to weave a future in which sustainability and equity go hand in hand, at the service of a fairer life for all.

Migration, Social Cohesion and Development: An Opportunity

In a world marked by rapid change, migration is revealed not as a problem, but as an opportunity to revitalize economies, enrich cultures and strengthen the social fabric. Did you know that in Spain almost half of the new jobs since 2022 have been filled by migrants? This text offers a strategic look at how intelligent and humanistic management of migration can ensure social cohesion, welfare sustainability and economic growth. Discover the most successful models in the world, the lessons that Europe must learn and the keys that Spain needs to take on to build a fairer, more prosperous and inclusive future.

Education and Artificial Intelligence: learning to think in the digital age.

As a long-time teacher, I want to reflect on AI in education today. I sincerely believe that the real challenge for education is not the presence of AI, but the use to which it is put. We cannot allow it to replace the ability to think, reason and create. Our mission now is to teach how to use it critically, with awareness and purpose. AI must be at the service of human thinking, not the other way around. Today more than ever, educating involves forming minds capable of discerning, deciding and building with autonomy in a digital world.

Let's talk about migration: between borders, rights and humanity

Migration is not a threat: it is a call to our ethical and legal responsibility. In the face of discourses that exclude and policies that violate rights, it is urgent to recover the principle of human dignity as the basis for any response. From an interdisciplinary perspective, I propose to open new routes for justice, where migrating is not criminalized and welcoming becomes an act of humanity and equity. Because no human being is illegal. And no right should depend on the border crossed.

Social memories Who decides what we remember?

Remembering is not neutral. What a society chooses to remember and forget is shaped by those who have the power to impose narratives: governments, schools, media. Today, in the digital age, social memories are managed by algorithms, campaigns and strategic silences. It is time to ask ourselves: what history are we accepting as true? To study social memory is to resist single narratives and open space for a critical, diverse and deeply human look at our past.

Research methodologies for social transformation

I have always been fascinated by how the way we ask questions determines the answers we get. In research, methodology is much more than a technical structure: it is the path that defines the impact of our work. What are we researching for? For whom? It is not enough to collect data; it is necessary to translate them into strategies, into real changes. I have learned that purposeful research is that which does not remain in the academy, but rather dialogues with society. Because knowledge that does not transform is lost in time.

Age should not be a boundary but a bridge

Age should not be a boundary but a bridge
I had always thought and am now convinced that growing old should not translate into invisibility. Many older adults, even with valuable professional careers, are being marginalized by a society that prioritizes the new and forgets the learned. The intergenerational disconnect not only impoverishes those who are aging, but also deprives young people of an inexhaustible source of wisdom. We are missing a unique opportunity: to create spaces where experience and youthful energy meet, dialogue and build together. We need to reconnect. Age should not be a limit, but a collective advantage. A society that listens to its elders is a society that evolves with meaning.

Innovative research with social impact

Research is not only a tool to understand the world, but to transform it. Over the years, I have seen how well-interpreted data can open paths and generate concrete solutions. But research for research's sake is not enough. We need methodologies that go beyond diagnosis and become action. Designing projects with real impact requires methodological rigor, strategic thinking and a genuine commitment to the reality we want to improve. It is not just a matter of obtaining results, but of making those results count.

Quality of life and human rights

It is not possible to talk about the quality of life that one has, individually or as a group, if one does not enjoy respect for the rights and guarantees that correspond to every person for the simple fact of being natural rights, that is, that by their nature they correspond to every individual that belongs to the human species. […]

Quality of life

When we talk about quality of life, we refer to the essence of our life itself. How do we live and how do we want to do it? Our aspirations, our individual desires to live and feel “good” are combined with the objective conditions in which we operate daily, housing, work, income, environment, social environment, among other aspects that cross the […]

Towards a change in the energy paradigm

The indiscriminate advance of this climate change is impacted by CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, affecting natural ecosystems, disturbing human security and transforming resources […]

Taking care of our mind to take care of our quality of life

The experiences of the present, in addition to the profound changes implied by new technologies, have accentuated the need and importance of taking care of our Mental and Emotional Health.
